Today, in Richmond (US) the German licensed cycling Team Giant-Alpecin proudly announced a long-term partnership with Renson, a trendsetting Belgian manufacturer of ventilation, sun shading systems & terrace covers.
International development of the brand & team
“We’re pleased with this new partnership in cycling, a sport that still remains one of the most popular sports internationally and is perfectly in line with the mission of Renson - ‘Creating healthy spaces’”, said CEO Paul Renson.
Team Giant-Alpecin founder & CEO Iwan Spekenbrink commented on the new partnership: “It needs no explanation how excited we are about this partnership with Renson, a prestigious and innovative company with social responsibility. We are very impressed by the smart and high-end innovative solutions and concepts of Renson, which improve the working and living conditions of people. This is a perfect match with our “Keep Challenging” elite sports approach and way of working, based on continuous innovations, cooperation and high standards. We are extremely thrilled that cycling in a broad sense and our elite sports team in particular are amongst the driving forces of the international marketing strategy of such an absolute first class brand, Renson. Renson’s large commitment enables our team to continue our mission, to expand our opportunities and to keep pursuing our dreams.”
Renson as a market leader in ventilation, sun shading & terrace covers in Europe, is now taking the next steps in its international growth. The company has recently been nominated as a finalist to become ‘Entreprise of the Year 2015’ in Belgium. Besides, their European activities, Renson recently started up their activities in Russia, US, Australia, India, Turkey, Middle-East and earlier this year the Italian company Corradi was acquired with production units in Bologna (IT) & Dallas (US).
Renson is convinced that the partnership with Team Giant-Alpecin will help them to develop their international growth, through the composition of Team Giant-Alpecin team (9 different nationalities), an international race calendar, worldwide brand activation & cooperation with other main sponsors Giant, Alpecin and Sunweb. Renson has been a proud partner of the Etixx-Quick-step cycling team in the last years, a partnership which will expire at the end of this year in mutual consultation between both parties.
No speed limit on innovation
The remarkable similarity between Team Giant-Alpecin & Renson is their constant drive to innovate. Differentiation with continuously new developments is the message. Currently more than 75% of the growth of the Renson turnover is realized by products developed in the last 5 years. This matches perfectly with the mission of Team Giant-Alpecin which is to progress the sport of cycling. Comparable to Renson in their industry, the team are also pushing the limits of technology, innovation & athletic achievement. Renson inspires architects & future builders, Giant-Alpecin inspires cyclists all over the world.
Balanced team & bright future prospective
With team Giant-Alpecin Renson says that they have found again a strong & ambitious team with the drive to be on the first rows in every race. It’s a strong team with a very balanced mix of riders who can play a role in the classic races of the pre-season or the time trial races, but also in more-day sprint & climbing races. With Warren Barguil & Tom Dumoulin, who showed his progress in the recent Tour of Spain, the team has the ambition to be on the podium of a grand tour. John Degenkolb is the traditional ‘Flandrien’ who can be a protagonist in about every classic race, especially those races in Flanders, the backyard of the Renson Headquarters in Waregem (BE).
Furthermore, having a women’s cycling team, Team Liv-Plantur, was also an important reason for Renson to sign this deal, as women often take the lead in the decision of the purchase of our terrace covers. These products are much more a ‘lifestyle’ & ‘design’ item, rather than a technical product. We therefore also hope that the women’s competition will keep on progressing & will also be broadcasted worldwide in the coming years. Renson will also be visible in the winter times, as Team Giant-Alpecin has one of the best Dutch cyclo-cross riders within the team; namely Lars Van Der Haar.
